A UTMB® World Series Event

The UTMB® World Series Finals will be held in the three key distances of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc - known as the OCC (50k), CCC® (100k) and UTMB® (100M). To qualify for a place at the Finals, trail runners must compete in at least one of the UTMB® World Series Events or UTMB® World Series Majors, where they can collect Running Stones for use in the lottery, or be rewarded for their performance with direct access.

The UTMB® World Series men's and women's champion titles will be awarded at these three races.

Each year, three UTMB World Series events will be given the status of UTMB® World Series Majors, becoming continental Series finals in the Americas, Europe and in Asia/Oceania.

UTMB World Series Majors afford permit Elites and Runners alike greater opportunities for qualification. Over 250 elites can gain direct qualification for UTMB finals. And for regular Runners, finishing a Major allows them to double the number of Running Stones they collect on the distance.

UTMB World Series Events are the best trail running events on the planet and are organized to the highest quality standards, giving runners the chance to immerse themselves in the UTMB experience on all continents. The top 3 elite runners gain automatic entry to the UTMB World Series Finals and all finishers collect Running Stones that allow them to become eligible for the UTMB Mont-Blanc on race courses that blend the best that the country has to offer.

Finishing a UTMB Index race will contribute towards your UTMB Index. However, it will not provide Running Stones which are mandatory to enter the UTMB Mont-Blanc lottery for the World Series Finals.

Your UTMB Index also allows you priority access for registration at UTMB World Series Majors and Events and is sometimes required as a security measure by Race Organizers, in order to ensure that you have the experience necessary to complete an ultra-distance.
